Treatment Preparation Timeline
4 Weeks Before Treatment
– Avoid waxing, plucking, threading, or epilation. Switch to shaving only.
– Avoid sun tanning, sunbeds, and self-tanning products.
– Protect exposed skin daily with SPF 30+.
– If your skin is sensitive, use a barrier-supporting moisturiser and avoid alcohol-based or fragranced products.
2 Weeks Before Treatment
– Pause active skincare ingredients (retinoids, AHAs, BHAs).
– Avoid deep peels, microneedling, or RF treatments on the area.
– Keep the skin calm and hydrated.
1 Day Before Treatment
– Shave the area within 24 hours before your appointment. Leave a small patch of visible hair (1/2 cm) so the therapist can assess thickness, colour, and density.
– If your skin is sensitive, shave gently with a new, sharp razor and use a fragrance-free shaving gel.
On the Day of Your Appointment
– Arrive with clean skin with no makeup, lotion, deodorant, or fragrance.
– Wear loose, comfortable clothing for body treatments.
– Maintain thorough hygiene before your visit.
Laser Session Safety & Experience
– The SplendorX applicator glides across the skin in a fast, even motion.
– Cool air supports skin protection and comfort. No gel or numbing cream is required.
– Smaller areas may take around 5 minutes, while larger areas may take up to 20 minutes.
– You may feel brief snaps of warmth, often compared to the light flick of a rubber band.
– Mild warmth or redness can be a positive sign that the follicles have responded.
Aftercare & Skin Response
First 24–48 Hours
– Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and intense physical activity.
– Do not apply deodorant, perfume, or make-up to treated areas.
– Use cool compresses or a fragrance-free moisturiser if the skin feels warm or tender.
– Protect the area from sunlight with SPF 30+.
– If your skin is sensitive, continue applying a calming cream and sunscreen (also indoors).
First 7–10 Days
– Avoid exfoliating treatments, chemical peels, microneedling, or RF treatments on the area.
– Do not scrub or pick at shedding hairs. Allow them to fall naturally.
– Keep your skincare gentle and fragrance-free to support recovery.
First 2–4 Weeks
– Avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanning products.
– Keep the skin hydrated and protected from UV exposure.
– If new hairs appear finer or lighter, this may indicate that treatment is progressing as expected.
Results & Consistency
Laser hair removal works progressively. Because only a portion of the hair is actively growing at any given time, delaying or skipping sessions may mean some follicles are not treated at the right stage. This can reduce overall effectiveness and increase the total number of sessions required.
Attending each session as advised allows newly active hairs to be treated at the right time, supporting steady and visible improvement throughout the course.
What’s Normal vs. When to Contact Us
Every skin responds differently, but mild reactions are a normal part of the skin’s response after laser treatment.
Understanding what is normal can help you feel more at ease after your session – and knowing when to contact us helps protect your safety at every step.
Normal Skin Responses After SplendorX Laser Treatments:
– Redness or warmth, similar to mild sun exposure.
– Subtle swelling around hair follicles, often resembling a light goosebump texture
– Itching or tingling as the follicles respond
– Shedding of treated hairs that may appear like new growth
– Temporary dryness or mild flaking as the skin renews
These effects are expected and often indicate that the follicles have responded well. Continue using gentle products and sunscreen until the skin has fully settled.
When to Contact Éclore Clinics:
– Redness, swelling, or warmth lasting longer than 72 hours
– Blistering, crusting, or any sign of infection
– Noticeable discolouration that doesn’t fade within a few days
– Increasing or sharp discomfort
– Flare-ups of conditions (e.g., eczema, herpes simplex, or psoriasis)
If you experience any of the above, or anything that feels unusual or persistent:
– Don’t apply any further products.
– Take a clear, well-lit photo of the area.
– Contact us before applying any home remedies.
Most post-laser reactions settle quickly with calm care and professional advice.
If you are unsure about your skin’s response, our therapists are here to guide and reassure you – it is always better to ask, even for a small concern.
Éclore Clinics Standards & Policies
We uphold laser safety standards with absolute precision and care.
Every treatment is measured and intentional – performed using world-class technology and guided by expert therapists trained to assess, adapt, and act with caution at every step.
While we maintain uncompromising safety protocols, treatment outcomes also depend on factors beyond the clinic.
For this reason, Éclore Clinics reserves the right to decline or discontinue laser treatments if the guidance outlined on this page is not followed, or if proceeding would compromise client safety or professional standards.
This includes missed preparation or aftercare, unreported changes in health or medication, or disregard for hygiene and professional boundaries.
These measures exist to protect your safety and preserve our standard of care.
